• Vlad calls the group, explains that he’s had to go into hiding for a bit but he hopes it’s not too bad now
• Has a chat with Sanguine about his fingers
• Sanguine is diving in the resonance
• Receives a message saying a ‘vehicle is outside – F’
• As he heads out, informed he’ll need his friends
• Calls the group

• Met up and are collected by the vehicle
• Windows blacked out, matrix connection blocked
• Driven for about an hour
• Arrived at the mafia home of Fabiana

• Offering a job

• Mafia families rotate leadership on a 5 year cycle
• Fabiana is currently in charge
• Bonito Renaldo 3^rd in line
• Haematoma 2^nd in line
• Switch over is in about 6 months

• Haematoma is bringing in shipments
• Wants us to investigate and retrieve a sample
• Doesn’t mind what happens to the rest
• Pay is £30k each!!!

• Shipment is at the beginning of September 2 weeks away
• Into a port – Rosyth
• Ship – Hong Kong flag, Silver star
• Shipping container – number provided but they are unsure if this is a decoy

• Driving up to Scotland overnight, without Jack who needed to work
• At a service station Loki informs us he’ll have to keep a low profile due to some problem with a go gang
• He was smuggling goods for them
• Got found out and fired from his official job that he was stealing goods from

• Reason he had to leave Scotland
• Vlad tries to buy him a disguise
• Loki insists he has to wear his tartan

14/08/2076 (Friday)

• Arrive at the safehouse
• Owned by ‘Pete’
• Jack arrives later

• Later that day we meet our contact “Fred”
• Female Orc with one tusk (right) caucasian, tanned (for Scotland)
• Fred doesn’t know what we are here for
• Sanguine asked Fred to get some details on security & logistics at the docks. Fred agreed. Fred isn’t that agreeable
• Sanguine enquired about materials. Fred, in addition to being workshy, is money grubbing
• Smith enquired as to the extent of the black market network available to Fred. Fred implied it was quite extensive

Investigating the Docks

• Hacking
• Sanguine, at Smith’s request, discovers that the docks belong to a Small(?) Corp. – must be at least AA/be a subsidiary if its got extraterritoriality – subsidiary of Wuxing
• Sanguine discovers that the dock’s host looks like a ship
• Sanguine attempted to hack the host. This did not initially go to plan
• Sanguine discovered that the dock’s host’s marks look like Irn Bru bottles
• Sanguine confirms the delivery date of the container; 2^nd September, which is a Wednesday
• Net weight of shipment as declared is 250kg
• Not a lot of security information
• HR was an impenetrable fortress

• Trip to the dock
• The docks are chain link fenced
• Cars are parked around the perimeter
• There are loading areas
• Containers on the docks in a demarcated area
• There are a selection of drones pootling around in various ways
• No visible armed human presence
• The road entrance has barriers near a standard guard post. The guard post has humans

• Jack found a homeless person. He offered him a cigarette. The tramp attempted to mug Jack. Sanguine intimidated the tramp using a rather large weapon
• Jack lamented the loss of top notch intelligence at the tramp’s departure
• Sanguine walked back to the safe house
• Jack has gone to find the local workers bar/pub
• Left after hearing motorbikes, spooked Loki

• Learnt that the courier company tasked with taking out the container is ‘In Cog We Trust’

• Fred made a fairly non-commital indication that she would attempt to get a man in on the ground to help with container placement post unloading. No additional funds were requested. Scratch that, still a money grubber. £2,000 to park the crate in a specific spot, less for just accessible
• £500-£1,000 for specific information on which smuggling group might be involved

15/08/2076 (Saturday)

• Loki knows about In Cog we Trust
• Used by many gangs to get stuff out of the docks
• Sanguine Hacks into In Cog We Trust host
• Finds rota
• Courier route is to take it to a train line
• Got a driver and a date
• Trevor Mills

• Whilst he’s hacking, Vlad’s car is keyed by a ned
• Vlad goes to confront him, kid, keeps going
• Chases him down the street
• Grabs him
• Local people watching
• Vlad drags him to an alley
• Being attacked by a spraycan
• Vlad beats him unconscious
• Being filmed
• Drive back

• That night
• Sneaking in to have a look around
• Crate stored 5-6 deep
• The port is open and working at night albeit to a reduced degree
• Smith reckons he can climb a crane
• Footsteps approach. Smith ducks into dark spot amidst crates
• The footsteps are non-metahuman
• Smith climbs a crate stack in order to avoid the padding footsteps
• Smith sits and waits, listening in the dark for the footsteps
• Things sniff and pad around nearby
• Smith assumes the giant padded death monsters are dogs
• Magic! Mind control! Oh shit. Maybe not dogs then. Dastardly mind control dogs
• Smith stands up. A light shines upon him
• He is asked politely to freeze. MC ends
• Smith runs away. Thereby refusing the polite invitation
• Dogs confirmed as giant padded death monsters
• Smith decides to break into open combat with the evil death dogs
• Smith informs the group of the above unfortunate events
• Smith’s normally excellent gun play is inadequate to hit the dog in the first instance
• Smith heroically aims a kick at the dog, lifting it off its feet and slamming it into a container, ending its miserable life
• The remaining dogs’ jaws clack closed onto air as they miss completely
• Smith punches a dog’s head into the floor. This is a bad outcome for the dog’s skull
• A dog futilely breathes fire in Smith’s general direction
• Another dog futilely breathes fire in Smith’s general direction
• Smith reaches the fence of the compound
• The third dog is turned inside out by Smith’s melee attack
• The magic dog does some magic. It is ineffective
• Smith snaps the final dog’s neck
• Smith runs back to the car

• Driving off
• No drones following us
• Spirit tracking us

• Sanguine passes out whilst in VR
• Jack casts F8 mana barrier, Spirit can’t get through
• Jack summons a F4 earth spirit
• Spirit tries to push thru barrier again but fails Spirit whacked by elemental
• Loki suggests a short coastal tour
• We make it back after a 6hr drive

16/08/2076 (Sunday)

• Get up mid-afternoon
• Decide the docks are too well defended
• Agree to contact fixer in Edinburgh to discuss boat-access for lobster fishing
• Head to Albatross club to speak to Tyler who agrees to investigate
• Whilst discussing gangs come along and make fuss – Finlay seeks to defuse
• Jack makes Loki invisible, he and Smith head to car
• Circuitous route ×2 shakes off gang rider following van
• Head back to safehouse

17/08/2076 (Monday)

• Taylor finds a lobster fisher captain. Dundee – £8k
• Recommends Finlay shakes the habit and Loki loses the kilt
• Finlay changes face and cassock

• Sanguine gets up for “breakfast” and gets caught up
• Loki and Sanguine ‘fix’ the winching problem to get 250kg off the ship
• Sanguine tries to watch Finlay sleep to see his real face
• Sanguine buys climbing gear and a wetsuit/diving set
• Smith buys a silencer for a sniper rifle

• Sons of Lanarky? Involved in the smuggling job
• Overloading the shipment at Rotterdam
• SoL then unloading the extra
• Before the shipment gets moved onto the train

• Visit to sea captain, sanguine wearing diving gear in Titania
• Captain (Haddock) give Jack/Tintin his 1^st mate hat. We go for a sail whilst Sanguine/Snowy stands on the dock
• Finlay gives Sanguine a makeover, whilst Sanguine plies him with whisky in a bid to get him drunk and see his unconscious face

02/09/2076 (Wednesday)

• Meet Cap’n Haddock 10pm readying for 3-4am intercept
• Sanguine brings pulley assemblage
• Jack summons force 6 spirit, draws mist in
• Haddock parks ship in front of container ship, so it draws alongside…ish
• Smith tries to grapple, in said fog. Failing that HE becomes the grappling gun
• We negotiate the rope, Jack does something fancy
• Sanguine starts trying to sort out knocking out security measures, with help from Smith and Finlay, and locates the crate
• Whilst heading to the container we all have to deal with some whistling deckhand. Cable ties and duct tape
• Find crate. Finlay listens to it, it’s full of packing peanuts, Smith thinks. Vlad goes for the handle
• Sanguine deactivates the maglock (in fear of alarm)… Vlad opens!
• Wave of packing peanuts… I told you so
• Inside through the peanuts – a glass box…with a tube, hinging towards a perspex door…containing some sort of small child-thing. Vlad moves to rescue said elf-girl-child
• θ-17? Vlad knows something about this
• Boat lights go to red alert

• Hack out the computer core of the tube
• Incoming drones
• Sanguine hacks a drone through the noisy ship environ. He is successful and turns it off. The drone is the size of an eyeball. In fact, a horizon flying-eye
• Jack insists we get a move on
• The sounds of drones approach
• Sanguine elects to hack another drone. His marks are removed by an active defender
• Jack summons a physical barrier in an attempt to block drone ingress
• The drone in the pocket of Sanguine reboots, while attempting to stomp it, the drone explodes making smoke and flashy lights
• Doors clang shut all around us
• We advance until a closed door stands before us. Sanguine gives it a little hack. He fails woefully
• The door is robust, like your mum
• Loki has a little tantrum and in doing so, sets off the fire alarm
• Now we are trapped and wet [like your mum]
• Sanguine is now under attack within the matrix
• Smith is cutting through the door with a mini-welder
• Sanguine and Jack hatch a plan to deal with the rigger for good
• Smith smashes down the door
• Gets a face full of lead
• Shoots down one of the drones
• Sanguine and Jack go for a snooze
• Sanguine is having a matrix battle with the rigger
• Jack finds the astral signatures of the crew and directs his spirit to materialise and engage
• Smith dives out the door to shoot a third drone
• Jack’s murderous octospirit attempts to claw the throat of the rigger’s unconscious form. Or drown him or something
• Fourth Drone shot heroically
• Loki notices a red light flashing on the box
• Team is running towards the stern of the ship where the fishing boat is having issues keeping up with the ships newly erratic driving
• Smith stimpatches
• Child is waking up, Vlad hands her over to Smith to pull out some leal and goes to spray her
• Eye contact with the child results in Smith getting mind controlled?
• Urge to protect the child
• Pulls her away from Vlad
• Vlad also controlled
• They run to the nearest lifeboat, jump in and send it into the water leaving the other three behind

• Other 3 grab a different life boat
• Red light is getting faster
• Sanguine trying to interact with it
• Its deploying counter measures
• Enemy Spirits arriving on scene
• Sanguine hacks in and retrieves a data file
• Is hit by a data spike, starts bleeding out of his nose
• Trying to shut down the self destruct system
• Successful

• Vlad and Smith get on fishing boat and yell at Haddock to drive off
• Sanguine shuts down the boat
• Vlad and Smith debate allowing them onboard but decide its better to have them
• They pull alongside
• Vlad orders Sanguine, the first to board, to put down his weapon
• Jack realises they’re mind controlled

• Sanguine warns Cpt Haddock and asks him to give him a reason to go to the bridge
• He is disarmed and allowed to pass
• Vlad is trying to get the other two to inhale leal

• Jack puts a large mana barrier up in front of the ship and as they pass through it the mind control is dispelled
• Child has fallen unconscious

• Vlad kicks captain below deck to explain his backstory and how it intersects

• Left Cap. Haddock and returned to dry land
• Epsilon is being off with Vlad but willing to drive
• Vlad, Smith, Jack and Child in one van
• Loki and Sanguine in the other

• Smith, Jack, Th-17 and Vlad drive in the van
• Sanguine falls asleep in the back of Titania
• The former talk about what happens next and Vlad tries pitching food thoughts to see if he is telepathic as well
• Stop at a service station stuffers shack
• Vlad buys kids clothes for Th, Loki buys all the soy burritos
• Sanguine does some crazy computing stuff
• Agree to see Fabiana (Smith, Sanguine, Loki)
• Jack and Vlad stay with Th-17

• Jack assenses the child
• Healthy
• Awakened
• Higher magic than Jack

• Smith puts a Stealth tag on the child
• Arrive to see Fab.
• Meet with Fabiana in her house

• Sanguine fills her in and tries to explain why we’re not giving her the child, hands over data

• Fabiana is not happy
• Wants to see the child
• Vlad and Jack appraised of this
• We agree to let her see her in a public location, busy
• Set off
• She has 4 SUVs

• Meet up in a public location
• She wants to touch the child
• Casting some sort of spell – mind reading
• Gives Jack a warning about ‘asking the child to do something with a particular phrasing’
• Wants to see the child on a regular basis
