Whiskey Company: A Lancer game following the exploits of Whiskey Company

Briefing

Delivered by Commander Seo-Hyun Park

After two weeks of downtime the team is summoned to a 07:00 briefing with one Colonel Anders

He informs them that it’s time to get back to work

Action

The briefing is suddenly interrupted by blaring sirens and flashing red lights as a voice informs them that the base is under attack

Aeric and Benno reach the sealed door of a mess, beyond which they can see frost and dead bodies

Reaching the hangar they find Yukina and the other mechanics frantically finishing work on their mechs and not a moment too soon as a blast blows in the hangar door and depressurises the room

Using their new mechs the squad is able to destroy the attacking force

With the battle over, Basco checks outside and sees chaos

The team decides to get away from the base as soon as possible to avoid any orbit fire

The team is worried that the Thermopylae is heading into an ambush, but the only way to communicate back is to take the base’s comms array

Yukina leads them to a human sized tunnel that should get them to the comms array and they dismount

Retreating to a crater to hide and repair in they wait for a response

They carefully make the journey to the pad and find it heavily defended

Deciding to rush the dropship before the Aun can call in reinforcements the squad gets to work

Once in orbit the squad decides to hide in the debris from the recent battle

The Thermopylae hails them with a message as it races into the system, it will only have a brief window to pick them up before the Aun fleet converges

Once at near-light, they get out and head to debriefing

The node is on an asteroid cluster and is essential as all Dodona/Calvary signals go through Borean omninet

The squad are catapulted through the void of space as battle is joined, rushing towards the node they can see Aun mechs

Basco darts to closest asteroid and accesses a packet of data from Borea, downloading relays of defence data including an alert:

The Aun fighter mechs attack as Mirbana reaches the asteroid with messages from Dodona

At one asteroid Benno gets 250yo messages from Dawn Throne

The fight rages on with Benno’s mech being taken out, leaving Gethin strapped to the now useless floating husk

They are able to access the main node and send the messages forward to Cornucopia

One of the Aun frigates is spinning out of control, the other is on fire and the Thermopylae doesn’t look much better

They get back on board and the Thermopylae makes the jump to nearlight, heading back to Cornucopia
